I'm a good example of the benefits of Pilates - in 1997 I suffered a severe prolapsed disc, tried many other options, and in the end came to Pilates, which renewed my confidence in my back. I soon became an enthusiast, and with my background in Health Related fitness (eight years running a rehab referral scheme at the Malden Centre in conjunction with GPs, Physios, and the Pain Clinic), I decided this was the way forward. I qualified in 2001 with Body Control, which I chose because of their insistence on thorough training methods, examinations, and brilliant teacher trainers, including Miranda Bass, Gordon Thompson, and of course, Lynn Robinson.

I am  continuing with my training: I am a  qualified  Franklin Method Basic Teacher, which has given me much more insight into how the body functions and mis-functions, and many more tools to use to correct poor movement patterns which lead to pain and stiffness. I've attended workshops on post-partum exercises, on correcting scoliosis, on the pelvic floor and how low-back pain and incontinence link-up.

I have a Post-Graduate Certificate from the University of Westminster in Complementary Therapies with a focus on evidence based investigation into how therapies work.

I am a mother of three boys, and a grand-mother...........My first degree was in Literature, and I still love to read.........critically! I swim, ride my bike round Richmond park, and enjoy living close to the Thames, Kingston and London.
